About Our Tournament

HMCS Fredericton FFH 337 was deployed from Halifax NS., in January 2020 for a six-month deployment under Operation REASSURANCE.
Tragically, on Wednesday April 29, 2020 an accident involving a Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) CH-148 Cyclone helicopter – Stalker 822 was deployed in the Mediterranean Sea with HMCS Fredericton took the lives of six souls, including Sub-Lieutenant Abbigail Cowbrough, a Marine Systems Engineering Officer; Sub-Lieutenant Matthew Pyke, Naval Warfare Officer; Master Corporal Matthew Cousins, Airborne Electronic Sensor Operator; Captain Maxime Miron-Morin, Air Combat Systems Officer; Captain Kevin Hagen, Pilot; Captain Brenden Ian MacDonald, Pilot.

2022 will mark the 2nd anniversary of this tragedy and as such, members of the families of the fallen came together to organize the annual Stalker 822 Memorial Golf Tournament.

This tournament is a way to remember and stand with the friends and families of those left behind. The tournament will be a best ball format hosted at the prestigious Hartlen Point Forces Golf Club.
All proceeds from the tournament will be given to Soldier On, a program of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) which contributes to the recovery of ill and injured CAF members and veterans by providing opportunities and resources through sport, recreational, and creative activities.

All proceeds from the tournament will be given to Soldier On, a program of the Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) which contributes to the recovery of ill and injured CAF members and veterans by providing opportunities and resources through sport, recreational, and creative activities. There will be on course 'games' throughout the day designed to raise funds for Soldier On.  Get onboard this inaugural year and show your proud Nova Scotia support for those who gave their all in the line of duty while also continuing the assist CAF members and veterans live better lives through Soldier On.
